Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy in New Port Richey, Florida

A collaborative, therapy-centered approach for eligible adult clients.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) combines psychotherapy with ketamine treatment for medically eligible adult clients.

At Pivotra Counseling Center, our focus is not simply on the medication experience itself, but on the therapeutic work surrounding it. KAP may include thoughtful preparation, therapeutic support during the experience, and integration afterward to help clients explore insights, process emotions, and connect their experience to continued therapeutic growth.

Pivotra Counseling Center provides the psychotherapy component of KAP. Journey Clinical provides the independent medical component, including medical evaluation, prescribing, and medication oversight.

Your KAP Journey: Five Steps

A Guided Path Toward Meaningful Change

Every KAP journey begins with a conversation and continues through individualized preparation, therapeutic support, and integration. Explore the five steps to understand how Pivotra Counseling Center and Journey Clinical work together while maintaining their distinct roles in your care.

1. KAP Consultation

A prospective client meets with Pivotra to learn about KAP, discuss therapeutic goals, ask questions, and determine whether proceeding to an independent medical evaluation may be appropriate.

2. Journey Clinical Medical Evaluation

The client completes an independent medical evaluation with Journey Clinical. Journey Clinical’s medical team determines medical eligibility and manages prescribing and medication-related decisions.

3. Preparation

The Pivotra therapist works with the client to establish expectations, therapeutic intentions, coping resources, and goals for the experience.

4. Therapeutic Support

For medically approved clients, a licensed mental health professional provides therapeutic presence and support during the KAP experience.

5. Integration

Integration sessions help the client reflect on and process the experience, explore meaningful insights, and connect those insights to continued therapeutic work and everyday life.

Why Choose Pivotra for KAP?

At Pivotra Counseling Center, we believe Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy is about more than the medication itself. Our approach emphasizes thoughtful preparation, supportive psychotherapy, and meaningful integration afterward.

Each client receives individualized therapeutic care based on their needs, goals, and treatment journey.

Pivotra provides the psychotherapy component of KAP while Journey Clinical independently manages the medical component. This collaborative model allows each part of care to remain within the appropriate professional scope while creating a coordinated treatment experience.

At Pivotra, ketamine is only one part of the process. The therapeutic work surrounding it is where meaningful integration begins.

Already Have a Therapist?

Clients who already have an established therapist may continue working with their current provider while Pivotra provides specialized KAP services. With appropriate written authorization, Pivotra can coordinate with the referring clinician when clinically appropriate so the KAP experience can complement the client’s ongoing therapeutic work.

KAP for Veterans

Veterans may bring experiences involving service, transition, loss, identity, relationships, and trauma into therapy. Dr. Jonathan Pawson is both a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and U.S. Army veteran, bringing clinical experience as well as personal familiarity with military culture to his work with veterans exploring KAP and other counseling services.
